Grieverjoe (Jose Alvarez) is NOT a whiny emo as his name would suggest. He's an IT student with a love for art.

Gesture sketches

So, instead of paying attention during my System Analysis and Design class, I spent it doodling some gesture sketches, taking after Bridgman's studies.
Also, those of you waiting for more T&A from me, you'll be happy to know that I'm still working on my Succubus drawing.
Here's where I'm at (complete with base colors)

15 minutes

With the flooring finished, I need to get back into the swing of drawing. In order to get myself back into it, I decided to do this 15 minute warm-up sketch.
Also, I forgot to post this one.

RO Succubus

Sorry, guys. Been busy lately. We've been working on installing flooring in our house.
But anyway, here's what I'm working on.
It's a drawing of a Succubus from Ragnarok Online. I'm gonna try to emulate Shunya Yamashita for this one. We'll see how it turns out.

15 minutes

Another 15-minute sketch. Halfway through this, I decided I needed to learn value, so I set out to do so. No reference, though, which defeated the point of the whole "learning" thing.

Loomis hands studies

I think drawings hands is one of my weakest points. Hands, backgrounds and coloring.
Just a quick study. About 30 minutes. Thank you, Andrew.

I implores you...

..to look at this John Marston picture and not laugh at my fail grayscale/overlay.
This is the reference I used (the face, at least.)
John Marston and Red Dead Redemption are property of Rockstar. Aww Yeeah.

More gestures and update

Here are some more gesture drawings. I used The Drawing Script for these. I spent 3 minutes on each, though I think I could've done better. Knowing I had a set time to work made it difficult to concentrate. So I guess this is what it feels like to work within a deadline. Lucky me, I've never had to do so.
Also, here's an update on the John Marston drawing.
Dunno if I'm gonna leave it grayscale or color it. Also, why am I using grayscale again?
