How do they work!?
I started on the top right and worked my way to the bottom left. Can you tell?
I guess this is one of those instances in which it wouldn't kill me to use the soft brush a bit more...
Need more practice!

Ruins concept

Some quick concept art for my wife of the ruins that feature heavily in one of her books. :)
Trying to be more explorative of landscapes, since I have little experience/success with anything non-person.

So, I'm still here, and I decided I would try my hand at landscape. Well, after messing with it, I'm thinking I should stick to figure drawing.

Tree color practice

Something a little bit different.
I'm working on my color theory, and I think it's starting to click, so my wife asked me to spend 20 minutes and use nothing but a hard brush to depict a sakura tree on a grassy hill with a stream in the distance. The left one was my first attempt, thinking about color theory. The second one is take two, having a slightly better grasp of color theory.

Mountains

Man, fuck mountains.

As much as I hate (and suck at) drawing mountains, I need to get better at backgrounds, and such. I gave myself a 30-minute limit, trying to make the scene recognizable without delving into too much detail.

Sand

The sand people walk in a single-file line to conceal their numbers.
Just a sketch, about 30 minutes in Photoshop.

This is my third and last (for now) attempt at landscape thumbnails. I used Photoshop for this one, instead of Painter, like I usually do.

Note to self: study some damn rocks.
