Chibi Laele

Working on page 2 of the comic. Had to take a break from drawing obnoxiously attractive Middle-Eastern men to draw a cute chibi for the wife

Style experimentation

Just like the title says, just playing around with styles. I still want to do my comic, but I need to find a style to stick to. More to come!

Kigurumi Laele

Wife: "You know those adult-sized Pikachu pajamas?"
Me: "Not really."
Wife: "Laele would totally wear those."
Me: "...I think I know what I'm drawing tonight..."

WHO WANTS FISH TACOS

So, in Monster Hunter, they have this weapon that's a frozen swordfish and you use it as a sword (sadly, in game, you swing the fish from the nose). I was playing and using that weapon, then I asked my wife if her character would use a fish as a weapon.
"Oh, yeah, totally. She would scream, 'WHO WANTS FISH TACOS!' before smacking people with it."

Watch out, monsters!

Laele WIP1

Can't tell you how many times I've reworked this image. :|
I think I'm finally getting somewhere with it. I'm trying to simplify and group my values. Trying to limit to 4 values at first, then work from there.

Day At The Beach

I tried to emulate Gil Elvgren for this one, but then I'd get all caught up in it and end up over-rendering, which defeated the purpose. But hey, I really like how the face turned out, so yay for me!
So, is she putting it on, or taking it off? Ho ho ho ho!

Wife's character, Laele.

Monster Hunter Laele

Like most young artists, I started drawing with a heavy focus on anime. As time went on, I ditched the anime look and started dabbing heavily into realism.
Since I've been on a Monster Hunter kick lately, I decided to revisit my anime roots with a drawing of my wife's character, Laele (Gobul X/switch axe user, what what!).
Having been away from anime for a while, this took me longer than it should have. :|
Done in Painter.

Laele - minimalistic

Decided to try a minimalistic approach to a sketch of my wife's character, Laele.
I rather like how it turned out. :)

C'mere, you - Lines

Recently, my wife asked me to ink one of her sketches of our two main characters.
My lines are on the top, her sketch on the bottom.

Ragnarok OnlineSinX and Alchemist costume redesign

My wife decided to redesign the costume of her Ragnarok Online Alchemist, so I decided to do the same to my Assassin Cross. :D
I haven't shaded mine yet, that's why he looks a bit flat.

Valentine's sketch

This is a sketch of an old drawing I did, back in 08, when I was amazing at art. [link]
I wanted to redo the whole thing and fix it for Valentine's Day, for my wife, but I didn't have enough time to finish it. Maybe some day, I will return to it and make it even better.
In the meantime, enjoy, and if you'd like, critique it.

Superhero costumes ideas

As I said in my previous post, I drew my wife's character, Laele, in her superhero persona. Kathy pointed out that she looks just like a regular Ragnarok Alchemist wearing a mask, and it's true: the idea spawned from the time my wife decided to put a simple mask on her character and call it a superhero disguise.
Keeping with the theme, I designed some superhero costumes for her, so that she'd fit in more properly with the superhero idea, and, of course, she picked the one that looks the most like her original Ragnarok costume.
Below are the costumes I drew for her, number 4 being the one she picked.
Which one is your favorite? :)

Still alive!

My wife got me this awesome sketchbook for Christmas, as well as some pencils and pitt pens, and this is the first 'real' sketch I did on it (I've done more, but they're mainly for testing out the paper.)
Her character Laele, in her superhero persona (I've been in a comics/superhero kick lately, so this was a lot of fun.)
She ended up looking more cartoony than what I would've liked, but it only took me about 30 minutes and I didn't really plan it.
In the future, I might revise it with a little bit more forethought. In the meantime, here you go.

PROGRESS

After all, I decided that the anatomy was all jacked up, so I fixed it (I hope). But still, PROGRESS!
